Acceptance of Terms
Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before accessing or using the website distroo.in, our digital advisor matching services, or interactive lead portals operated by Distroo IMF Pvt. Ltd. ("Distroo", "Company", "we", "us").
By accessing, browsing, submitting consultation inquiries, or utilizing any portion of this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our companion Privacy Policy and Regulatory Disclosures. Regulatory Positioning & Nature of Services
Distroo operates within the Insurance Marketing Firm regulatory framework established by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
- Not an Insurer: Distroo does not underwrite insurance risk, issue insurance policies, assess actuarial tables, or guarantee insurance coverage. The contract of insurance is entered into solely between the customer and the underwriting insurer.
- Not an Insurance Broker: Distroo does not represent all insurers across the Indian market and does not operate as an insurance broking entity. We operate as an IMF with tied insurer relationships authorized under IRDAI guidelines.
- Not a Comparison Website: Distroo is not an automated algorithm-driven price comparison aggregator. We provide relationship-driven advisory through certified human Advisors.
- Not an Investment Adviser: Informational guides on life insurance, retirement savings, or employee benefits do not constitute SEBI-registered investment advice or guaranteed return forecasts.
No Unsupported Claims & Premium Estimates
Distroo strictly adheres to ethical solicitation guidelines and IRDAI advertising regulations:
- We do not make unsupported claims such as "best", "lowest premium", "guaranteed claim", "100% claim approval", or similar promotional guarantees.
- Any illustrative premium calculations or cover estimates displayed on our website or shared during advisory consultations are indicative figures provided for educational purposes. Final premiums are determined solely by the respective insurance company based on underwriting evaluation, medical disclosures, age, occupation, and prevailing tax levies.
- Insurance coverage begins only upon formal acceptance of the proposal by the underwriting insurer and receipt of the full premium.
Principle of Utmost Good Faith (Uberrima Fides)
All insurance contracts in India are based on the legal principle of Uberrima Fides (Utmost Good Faith). When submitting information to Distroo or our partner Advisors:
- You are legally obligated to disclose all material facts, medical history, prior hospitalization records, existing insurance policies, and hazardous lifestyle habits completely and truthfully.
- Non-disclosure, omission, concealment, or misstatement of material facts may result in the insurance company declaring the policy void from inception and repudiating claims in accordance with Section 45 of the Insurance Act, 1938.
- Distroo and its Advisors accept no responsibility or liability for claim denials resulting from inaccurate, fraudulent, or incomplete information furnished by policy applicants.
Role of Advisors & Insurance Sales Persons (ISPs)
Customer-facing interactions are conducted by certified Advisors, who are accredited Insurance Sales Persons (ISPs) compliant with IRDAI IMF regulations. Advisors are trained to assist customers in risk analysis, plan comparison among tied insurers, and application documentation.
Advisors are prohibited from charging consultation fees to customers, offering unauthorized premium rebates, or providing guarantees contrary to insurer policy wordings.
